April Issue of GoMag Online Now!

They say April showers bring May flowers but for us, April horse shows
bring tough competition and great fun for the entire month. With so many wonderful shows during the month of April, it’s no wonder that the April issue of GoMag is as strong as it is!  Our April cover features a lovely up-and-coming new exhibitor, Brooke Granzow.  Brooke is the grand daughter of Susan and Bill Knapp of Knapp Farms in Iowa and has a very bright future ahead of her in the show arena.

Brooke Granzow started riding horses in her grandparent’s arena when she was six. She and her brother had a pair of ponies named Chico and Topper. Brooke loved them but soon learned the bigger horses were easier to ride than the smaller, somewhat tenacious ponies.

She started showing AQHA shows when she was nine with her first horse, Chicks Petty Cash. Brooke worked really hard and after a year she graduated to two-time Congress Champion Rockum N Shockum. The pair made the finals in both the Novice Youth Western Pleasure 13 & Under and Western Pleasure 11 & Under at the 2009 Quarter Horse Congress. She was also top-five in the Showmanship 11 & Under with Good Compensation.

In January, with the help of Pat Heeley, her grandparents purchased Perfect Bronze for Brooke to work on her all-around skills. Perfect Bronze is a multiple PHBA World Champion who excels in western pleasure and western riding. Brooke works with Heeley for the western pleasure and western riding and is getting help from Iowa trainer Shannon Vroegh on the trail and showmanship. Watch for Brooke at the Palomino World Show in 13 & Under All-Around events this year.

Brooke would like to thank her entire family including parents, Kendy and Tyler, who tirelessly take her to lessons and horse shows, her grandparents and Aunt Sara for all of their support.
