Seaside Farm, LP Purchases These Irons Are Hot

Seaside Farm, LP is pleased to announce the purchase of These Irons Are Hot, a 2001 17.2 hand brown stallion by Duplicated Deck and out of Georgia Rabling (TB) from Shaw Quarter Horses.

These Irons Are Hot (“Dexter”) is a Congress Champion in the prestigious 3-year-old Hunter Under Saddle Open Futurity. He has earned 123 performance points earning him the 2004 High Point Open HUS stallions as well as the NSBA High Point 3 Year Old HUS horse. He was 3rd in the AQHA Select Amateur HUS in 2006 with De De Shaw.

His first two foal crops are showing and the results are incredible. Champions in nearly every major futurity: Tom Powers, The Southern Belle, Virginia, NSBA Breeders Cup plus the prestigious 3 year old Open Hunter Under Saddle Futurity. He also had a Congress Champion in the very competitive Junior Hunter Under Saddle class with These Irons R Dancin and Trish Yamber (pictured left – Photo (c) Jeff Kirkbride).

He also had a Reserve Champion in the Congress 2 year old HUS Masters class with The Ultimate Gift and Nancy Sue Ryan (pictured left – Photo (c) Jeff Kirkbride). There were also several other top 10 finishes in the 2009 Quarter Horse Congress. However, we feel the best is yet to come for this young stallion.

Seaside Farm, LP owns the junior stallion, Iron Age, which is expecting his first foal crop in 2010. The opportunity to purchase such a strong established senior stallion complemented their young program perfectly. Larry, Carol and Adria Smith are excited to have two exceptional HUS stallions to not only cross their broodmare band on but to market as well. It was too great of an opportunity to pass up!

George and De De Shaw are happy for both the Smith’s and “Dexter”. This is a win-win situation as they know how much Adria loves stallion marketing. They will continue to support the babies from These Irons Are Hot as they have some exceptional producing mares.

These Irons Are Hot (HYPP N/N) will continue to stand in 2010 at Gumz Farms in Morganfield, Kentucky and his stud fee will remain unchanged at $2,000 which includes the first shipment of domestic cooled semen. Pricing considerations are offered so please contact Amy Gumz, Breeding Manager, for additional information at 270-389-0887, info@gumzfarms.com (email) or visit their website at www.gumzfarms.com. He is enrolled in most major futurities as well as the AQHA Incentive Fund and Kentucky Breeders Incentive Program. Visit them online at www.theseironsarehot.com and www.seasidefarmlp.com.
