Congratulations to Diesel Only and Many Other Congress Champions

The 2009 All-American Quarter Horse Congress has come to an end. They did a nice job this year covering behind the scenes with stories and interviews with the winners, including Diesel Only, the winner of the Junior Western Pleasure. Not surprising, many of those winners are GoHorseShow.com advertisers!  Congratulations to all!

Name: Gail Wilkinson

Horse’s Name: Diesel Only

Hometown: Asheville, North Carolina

Horse’s Age: 4

Congress Championship Class: Junior Western Pleasure

Have you shown at the Congress before? Yes, I showed Vinnys Uno here twice in the Amateur Western Pleasure and placed in the Top Ten both times.

How long have you been showing? I’ve been involved with horses since the age of four (a long time!). I showed as a youth, and have been showing the past 10 years as an adult.

Do you show with a trainer? Yes, I show with Shane and Cindy Young.

How was your Congress experience? It has been surreal! Diesel is four years old and has stood for two years in Kentucky with very limited showing. He was sixth in the 2007 Masters class, High Point Western Pleasure stallion in Tampa, Florida, in January 2009 and now the Junior Western Pleasure Champion at the 2009 Congress with Shane Young! I’m just thrilled! Everyone has been so wonderful and the experience has been more than a dream come true. My warmest thanks to everyone!

Tell us about yourself: I’m the luckiest person in the world!

Tell us about your horse: Diesel is a dream horse! He’s the only stallion I’ve ever owned and I love him more than words can express.

What are your goals for the future? Diesel will stand at stud in Kentucky in 2010 with John Wainscott and I plan on pampering him.
