During a special awards ceremony on July 5, 2008, the American Paint Horse Association recognized some of its top Novice Amateur, Amateur and Open competitors from the 2008 World Championship Paint Horse Show. The association’s premier event, World Show draws competitors from across the country, and even internationally.
Thirteen titles were awarded during the Open and Amateur portion of the show.
The All-Around Open Horse title is the pinnacle of success for horses
in open competition here at the World Championship Paint Horse Show, and in the Paint Horse industry. The Big Sensation made his own big sensation at the 2008 World Show with consistent performances throughout the week under the guidance of Beth Case, Tracy Baer, Jason Martin and Charlie Cole. The 5-year-old stallion is owned by Tammy Dyer of Pilot Point, Texas. He earned Top 5 placings in Junior Hunter Under Saddle, Junior Hunter Hack and Junior Western Riding, as well as Reserve World Championships in Junior Pleasure Driving and Junior Working Hunter. Awards presented to Dyer from APHA were a 3-horse aluminum trailer, courtesy of APHA sponsor Hart Trailers; $1,000 cash, courtesy of APHA; and a pair of boots, courtesy of APHA sponsor Lucchese.
