Pittman Ranch Hires Scott Kesney as Breeding and Sales Manager

Pittman Ranch, LLC, the home of VS Code Blue (Peyton), is excited to announce the hiring of Scott Kesney as the new breeding and sales manager. Pittman Ranch is located in Chipley, Florida and is owned by Wes and Jan Shepherd Pittman.

“This is an amazing opportunity to work for a lady that has had such a positive influence in my life,” Kesney says. “Jan is a strong, classy lady, and I look forward to being around her everyday.”

Originally from New Hampshire, Kesney’s resume includes working for Stanley and Susan Scott at Haylo Farm of Ocala, Florida as well as winning the Novice Youth Western Pleasure at the Congress in 2005. Recently, Kesney has made a name for himself fitting yearlings to sell, as well as breaking out two-year-olds.

He is also knowledgeable about breeding mares as well as photography, shooting videos, fitting prospects and breaking out two year-olds. So, I feel like I’m getting an all-in-one package when it comes to Scott’s many talents. His enthusiasm is also very refreshing.”

Pittman has developed a name for herself in showing and breeding her top pleasure mare, Ona Good Impulse. The two were AQHA World and Congress Champions and Pittman has outstanding babies out of her crossed with VS Code Blue, including Ona Good Kiss owned by Susie Johns and Her Little Secret owned by Rebecca Smiecinski. Ona Good Kiss is already a NSBA World Champion and multiple futurity champion while Her Little Secret was Reserve Champion at the Little Futurity in the Two Year Old Limited Non Pro.

These babies were fitted by Kesney, so with Pittman’s purchase of VS Code Blue in March, it made perfect sense for the friends who have known each other for a decade to join forces.

In the few short months that Pittman Ranch stood VS Code Blue in 2016, they bred over 90 mares. With the ability to plan and advertise even more for next year’s breeding season, Pittman and Kesney are enthusiastically looking forward to the future.
