Robert “Bob” Menker Passes

Robert E. “Bob” Menker, 
age 75, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away Thursday afternoon, November 12, 2015 at his home. 

He was born November 16, 1939 in Dayton, Ohio, son of the late Clarence J. & Marcella E. (Hochwalt) Menker.

On Christmas Eve, 2000, in Wilmington, he married Connie S. (Angerer) Menker, who survives. 

Robert was a fireman for 25 years, joining the Miamisburg Fire Department in 1966.  He was named Fire Chief in 1982 and served in that role until his retirement in 1991.

A lifetime horseman, he was past president of the Southern Ohio Quarter Horse Association, past Director of the Ohio Quarter Horse Association and a founding member of the Central States Horse Show Association.

In addition to his wife, other surviving family members are his children- Bobby (Peggy) Menker, Lexington, KY, Bradley (Judy) Menker, Markleville, IN, Beckey (Todd Yoder) Schooler, Adrian, MI, & Beverly (Scott) Dietrich, Greenville, IN; grandchildren- Rose Menker, Samantha Menker, Austin Menker, Ty Paris, Adam Menker, Jessy Menker, Anna Dietrich, & Casey Menker; Siblings- Clarence James “Jim” (Martha) Menker, Miamisburg, George Menker, Clayton, Phyllis (John) Garstka, Dayton, Joanna Colston, Spring, TX, Marcella “Tootsie” (Fred) Dye, Springboro; sister-in-law- Judith Menker, Brookville, OH; and 28 nieces & nephews. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his grandchildren- Jordan Lee & Wyatt Allen Menker; sister and brother-in-law- Rosemary & John “Bud” Bachey; brother- Charles “Charlie” Menker; & brother-in-law- Fred Colston.

Memorial Services will be held at , 11:00 AM, Monday, November 23, 2014 at the St. James United Methodist Church, 401 Carlwood Drive, Miamisburg, OH with Pastor Stu Rammes officiating.  

Friends will be received from 10 AM until the time of the services and at a reception following the service at the church.  The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington is serving the family.
