GIFFORD, IL – John Gordon “Bud” Hannagan II, a man larger than life, renowned for his stories, antics and love of life, left us in the early morning hours on Friday (Aug. 28, 2015) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Bud was the second of six children born to John Gordon and Jan (Fager) Hannagan on Dec. 16, 1957, in Urbana. His love for family began in the Penfield family home and will always be a strong bond.

Bud was a 1976 graduate of Armstrong High School. He farmed the family land all his life and worked at the Gordon Hannagan Auction Company/Gordyville USA.

His greatest love was his sons and supporting them in their sports, motocross and encouraging them to carry forward his zeal for life. He enjoyed many hours of riding motorcycles with friends, and made being the life of the party an art form. Today we lost an incredible man but his stories will go on forever.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Penfield. Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Gordyville, 5 miles east of Rantoul on Route 136.

Lux Memorial Chapel, Rantoul, is handling the arrangements.
