The $2,000 Harris Leather Gift Certificate 2015 Winner Announced

On Wednesday, April 1 GoHorseShow.com launched a contest in which our readers could enter to win a $2,000 gift certificate from Harris Leather and Silverworks. The contest ended at midnight on Tuesday, April 14. The premise of the contest was for GoHorseShow.com readers to vote for their favorite ad in the April issue of GoMag. Throughout the two weeks we received over 40,000 votes.

Each time an ad was voted for, the person voting, the advertiser and the graphic designer of the ad received an entry into the drawing to be held on Wednesday, April 15. The 2015 GoMag $2,000 Harris Leather and Silverworks Gift Certificate contest has come to a close.

The computer has randomly drawn and the winner is…TINA ANDERSON of Millsap, Texas!

When reached by phone, Tina was in Waco, Texas at the NCEA National Championship where her daughter, Bailey Anderson, is competing with the University of Georgia equestrian team. Bailey recently received Southeastern Conference (SEC) Freshman of the Year honors.

“Yay! Thank you so much! You have no idea how badly Bailey wanted to win,” Tina exclaimed when she heard the news that she was the winner of the $2,000 Harris Leather Gift Certificate. “We LOVE Harris and Bailey is really wanting a new Harris headstall. We have had to borrow, beg and steal to show in a Harris headstall so we will definitely use it for that.”

Tina Anderson, who is the Director of New Product and Strategy Development for Farnam and has been an AQHA judge for 15 years and a NSBA judge for 10 years, explained that her relationship with the Harris family runs deep. “We have always ridden in Harris saddles. In fact, Bailey’s trainer, Terry Cross, has all of his customers ride in a Harris saddle. We love them so much!”

In addition to being loyal Harris customers, Tina and Bailey have been long-time GoMag supporters. “We don’t advertise regularly, but it’s Bailey’s last year in youth and she had a great year last year so we plan to do a series of ads this year,” explained Tina. “There is huge merit to digital media. Everybody is busy and may not have time to flip through magazines and it’s a lot quicker and easier to just look at things on their phone. We have advertised in GoMag in the past and I know it’s very well read. The stories on GoHorseShow and contests like this are really popular and people get fired up to read and vote. Advertising in this issue was a great opportunity to get our ad and message out there.”

The winning vote was cast by Tina on April 10th. “I received a a text from my daughter in Georgia every day during the contest,” Tina explained. “The text read, ‘Did you vote today?’ If I told her ‘Not yet,’ she would send back a mad face emoji and I would immediately go vote.”

Bailey’s two page ad appeared on pages 44-45 of the April issue of GoMag and was designed by European graphic designer and horses trainer, Jadasa Joblonowski “Dasi”. Bailey’s ad received the third highest number of votes throughout the contest. “It really is a beautiful ad and Dasi did such a great job. I can see why people naturally liked it and why it received so many votes. I definitely encouraged people to vote by sharing on Facebook and I know many of Bailey’s barn mates, teammates, family and friends also voted and I am grateful to them.”

Dasi designed two other ads in the Top-15 and for the second year in a row, she designed the ad that received the most overall votes. Top honors go to the Virginia Owen and One Lazy Investment ad that received the most votes throughout the entire contest. She also submitted the ad for Masterson Farms’ stallion, RL Best Of Sudden.  “Dasi is so creative and awesome to work with. I’ve known her for years both personally and professionally. The best thing about her is she gets to know her clients and she is able to pair her client’s personality with their ad,” Tina said.

Tina, in her closing remarks, wanted to be sure to show her appreciation.  “Thank you GoHorseShow for the opportunity and Harris for sponsoring this contest. It is a great way to give back to the industry and Bailey and I are very appreciative.”
