AQHA has announced the judges for the Adequan Select World Show held in Amarillo, Texas from August 29 – September 4 as well as the AQHA
Open World Show held in Oklahoma City, November 6-20. There are
several distinguished horseman on the list.
Patti
Carter-Pratt, 2005 AQHA Professional Horsewoman of the Year, is no stranger to
judging major shows across the country. Carter holds every major judge’s card
(except NCHA) and has judged all the major world championships and shows in the
United States and abroad. Pratt will have the extraordinary opportunity to
judge the AQHA Open World this year. One of her mentors Bill Ink has given her
advice that she has taken to heart whenever she judges. “To
be a good judge, you have to be prepared, be consistent, and be determined to
get it right.”
Don Bell, Director of Sales for
GoHorseShow.com has also been selected to judge
the AQHA Open World this year. Bell has judged the AQHA Youth Worth twice, and,
at the age of 28, he was youngest to ever judge a world show. This will be
Bell’s first time to judge the AQHA Open World. “AQHA has asked me to
judge before, but I have never been able to. This year was a natural time
to do it since Joetta (his wife) is expecting June 1st, and I’m not
showing halter horses anymore.”
Bell adds, “I look forward to
the opportunity to give my opinion. The list of judges are really good this
year, and I’m very excited about the opportunity to judge with them.”
