The American Quarter Horse Association is proud to crown 2023 AQHYA All-Around Award winners, sponsored by the Kentucky Quarter Horse Association. Exhibitors and their American Quarter Horses in the 14-18 division and the 13-&-Under division that earned the most points in three or more Level 3 youth events in three categories during the show were honored.
AQHYA 14-18 All-Around
The 2023 14-18 AQHYA All-Around winner is Evie Doles of Saint Louis, Missouri, who showed If Im Honest. The 2016 bay gelding by How Bout This Cowboy out of Who Could be Certain was bred by Fritz Leeman of Massillon, Ohio. Doles and If Im Honest earned 52 points in the 14-18 all-around competition. The pair earned a world championship in hunter under saddle, fourth place in western horsemanship and top 10 finishes in showmanship and hunt seat equitation.
The 14-18 All-Around winner received a prize package of $2,500, an all-around champion neck ribbon and a custom-logoed jacket.
The Reserve 14-18 AQHYA All-Around winner is Isabella Marie D’Onofrio of Colombus, Ohio, who showed Whata Moonlite Ride. The 2015 brown gelding by Only In The Moonlite and out of January Version was bred by Phillip Dobbs of Ontario, Canada. D’Onofrio and Whata Moonlite Ride earned 45 points. The team earned the world champion title in hunt seat equitation, a reserve world champion title in showmanship, a top 10 finish in trail and was a finalist in western horsemanship.
The Reserve 14-18 All-Around winner received a prize package of $1,000, a reserve champion neck ribbon and a custom-logoed jacket.
AQHYA 13-&-Under All-Around
The 2023 AQHYA 13-&-Under All-Around winner is Alexandra Rippeon of Mount Airy, Maryland, who showed ItzOnly Make Believe. The 2017 bay mare by Machine Made and out of Sophisticated Invite was bred by Ken Moore of Camden, South Carolina. Rippeon and ItzOnly Make Believe earned 47.5 points. In 13-&-Under competition, the team earned the world champion title in western horsemanship, reserve world champion title in hunt seat equitation, third in showmanship and a top 10 finish in youth performance halter mares.
The 13-&Under All-Around winner received a prize package of $2,500, an all-around champion neck ribbon and custom-logoed jacket.
The Reserve 13-&-Under All-Around is Eleanor Ott of Sand Creek, Michigan, who showed Hez Rainey Made. The 2016 chestnut gelding by Machine Made and out of Rhapsody In The Rain, was bred by Richard and Betty Jo Carr of Bremen, Indiana. Ott and Hez Rainey Made earned 47 points in the 13-&-under all-around competition. The team earned the world champion title in trail, placed third in western pleasure and landed a top five finish in western horsemanship and a top 10 finish in hunt seat equitation.
The Reserve 13-&-Under All-Around winner received a prize package of $1,000, a reserve champion neck ribbon and a custom-logoed jacket.
