Long before Icee Hott became a three-time NSBA World Show Champion, the striking stallion known as “Shaq” commanded attention as a two-month-old foal in a pasture.
Trainer Ricky Noiseux first spotted the striking 2023 colt by Fiire N Ice at Bret and Candy Parrish’s farm while looking at another prospect. Still alongside his dam, A Good Sweet Peach, Shaq immediately became the favorite. This outstanding stallion is owned by the Janis Family of Lakewood Ranch, Florida.
“With all his white and incredibly slow legs, he just had a presence about him already,” owner Sabrina (Janis) Littrell said.
The connection became even stronger when they discovered Shaq was a maternal sibling to their Congress Champion mare, It Comes So Easy.
That early promise has developed into exceptional success. At the 2026 NSBA World Championship Show, Shaq and Ricky Noiseux won the Limited Open Three-Year-Old Western Pleasure and Intermediate Open Three-Year-Old Western Pleasure. He followed those victories with a unanimous championship in the BCF Three-Year-Old Limited Color Western Pleasure and earned bronze in the Three-Year-Old Open Western Pleasure.
The accomplishments were especially meaningful in a division recognized each year as one of the industry’s deepest and most competitive.
Shaq’s presence extends beyond his striking appearance and natural movement. On the ground, he is friendly, easy to handle and always ready for scratches. Under saddle, however, he is quiet, focused and serious.
“He always tries his hardest and gives his all every single ride. He is the definition of a true show horse,” Sabrina says.
The Janis family credits Noiseux with patiently developing the stallion and allowing his individual strengths to emerge. From Shaq’s first rides through his championship performances, Noiseux has tailored the program to the horse while consistently prioritizing his health and well-being. The bond they have formed is unmistakable.
Shaq and Ricky will be showing in the Coughlin Three Year-Old Open/Limited Western Pleasure Futurity and the Super Sires Three-Year-Old class at the All-American Quarter Horse Congress.
Shaq’s pedigree adds another dimension to his future. A Good Sweet Peach has produced successful show horses by multiple stallions, with offspring winning at the Congress, NSBA World Show and AQHA World Show across several events. The hope is that Shaq will pass along the temperament, athletic ability and unmistakable presence that have become hallmarks of his dam’s offspring.
Shaq is expected to stand to a limited book of mares in 2027 while continuing his show career. After breeding season, his team plans to let the young stallion help determine what comes next.
For now, his appearance on the September cover of GoMag celebrates an extraordinary year so far, and hopefully only the beginning of a long and storied future in the show pen and breeding barn.
