GoHorseShow would like to congratulate Natalie Hudson of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas on the purchase of multiple AQHA World and Congress Champion Zippin A Breeze. The talented gelding, affectionately known as “Danny” was owned by Susan Wilson under the guidance of Highpoint Performance Horses.
“I’m really excited for them,” Susan Wilson told GoHorseShow. “It wasn’t exactly planned, but an amazing opportunity came up that I could not pass up, so I needed to sell him. I believe Natalie and Danny will be an awesome match and will do well in the youth division. I look forward to watching this new team with Bruce Vickery and Anthony Montes.”
Charlie Cole and Jason Martin of Highpoint echo these same sentiments. “I’m excited to see Danny go on with Natalie and Bruce and Anthony. Natalie looks great on Danny and I know they will be a tough team to beat,” Cole says. “He is a super-talented horse. He floats through his lead changes,” Martin adds.
Zippin A Breeze is a 2013 sorrel gelding by Invitation Only and out of the great mare, Zippin The Breeze. Danny holds multiple World and Congress Championship titles, including winning the prestigious Senior Western Riding at the 2019 AQHA World Show with Jason Martin. He also has points in Western Pleasure, Trail, Horsemanship, and Western Riding.
“Natalie tried Danny out at the Congress, and it was instantly clear they were a fit for each other,” Natalie’s mother, Ann recalls. “His breeding and feel are very similar to her current show partner, Hot Ovations, aka Benz, which made her feel right at home on Danny. They looked very comfortable with each other, like they had been together for a long time. There was no awkwardness, no wondering how they would get along. He instantly took to her as well as she took to him. Confirmation from our trainers Anthony Montes and Bruce Vickery that this was a good match made us comfortable to move forward with this purchase.”
This new team will be able to hit the ground running and carry Natalie through her remaining years as a youth along with NSBA World and Congress Champion Hot Ovations (pictured right) and her mare MS Extremelyhotchips. With Danny, Natalie will be able to add Western Riding classes to her show schedule and will also compete with him in Horsemanship and Trail classes. He’ll be shown in Senior Western Riding and Trail classes with Anthony Montes.
“He has so much self-carriage and makes his patterns look effortless,” Natalie says. “I wasn’t planning on buying another horse, but when I found out Danny was available, I knew he was the one. He does all of the classes I wanted to show, such as Horsemanship, Trail, and Western Riding. He is one of the most fun horses I have ever been able to ride, he is so willing and patient and will do anything you ask of him.”
“We are grateful to Anthony and Bruce for putting this team together!” Ann adds with excitement.
“I’m excited for the future of this new team. The second I saw Natalie ride him, I knew they would be a good match,” Montes shared. “I’m a very visual person, and I instantly knew the first time I saw them together. They immediately clicked.”
GoHorseShow congratulates the Hudson family on adding Danny to their already impressive lineup, and we look forward to watching this new duo together next year.
Look out for Anthony Montes and Zippin A Breeze who are showing in the Senior Trail and Western Riding coming up on Friday at the AQHA World Show.
