About the Cover

Promising young sire Gone Viral is featured on the cover of this month’s Holiday Issue of GoMag. This beautiful stallion is owned and loved by Kari Ellingson of Haystring Farm, located in Social Circle, Georgia. Gone Viral, affectionately known as “Monkey,” is a 4-time Congress Champion and 6-time NSBA World Champion and now a multiple World and Congress Champion sire.

“Monkey is one of the best-minded horses I’ve ever had,” Ellingson told us. “He was the easiest horse I’ve ever shown during his show career. He didn’t require much preparation; he mostly just needed his beauty sleep, never cheated the show pen, and was the same every time I showed him. He knew his job, and he loved it.”

The 2014 bay stallion by No Doubt Im Lazy is also passing along his calm disposition to his offspring. “Through his babies, however, we are not only seeing that he passes on his disposition, but his effortless movement as well,” Kari says.

Monkey’s oldest foals are three years old this year. His winning offspring include the highly decorated Gone Commando (Rikki), a 3-Year-Old out of Only A Sterling Moon, by Only In The Moonlite. This sensational mare is owned by Karen Carter, is under the guidance of Taft and Adrienne Dickerson and was bred by Cecilia and Jamie Hylton and Paul and Tami Thurston.

Rikki started her show career earlier this year by winning the Virginia Maiden. After that, she became an NSBA World Champion and then a 3-time Congress Champion. Incredibly, two of her Congress titles were unanimous, including winning one of the most prestigious classes, the 3-Year-Old Open Western Pleasure with Taft Dickerson. Like father, like daughter as Gone Viral also won the same class at the 2017 Congress with Jason English in the saddle.

“Rikki has made my dreams come true,” Karen Carter told us.She means the world to me because she enabled me to own one of the finest horses in the industry. I am so proud of her and what she has accomplished – and she’s just getting started!”

Gone Viral has had several more champions as well: Monkey Cee Monkey Do, Amazon Prime, PennyForYourThoughts, Only Platinum, Gotta Go Viral, Luck Of The Irish, Goodie Goodie Gone, and Ima Dream Gone Viral. All these fantastic babies have been successful at many of the major shows in the country.

Ellingson reflects, “I believed in Monkey when he was showing, and now, I believe in him even more. He’s made all my dreams come true and is now a small part of making many others’ dreams come true.”

Gone Viral stands at Piedmont Equine Associates in Madison, Georgia during the breeding season. His stud fee is $2,500 and he is 5-panel Negative – N/N. For more information, please click here to visit their website or click here to download the breeding contract.
