Kane Takes Reins of AQHA International Department

AQHA is excited to announce that the AQHA International Department will transition leadership to AQHA Director of International Activities Sierra Kane.

Dr. Morrison tendered her resignation with the American Quarter Horse Association and American Quarter Horse Foundation this week. Her last day with the Association as chief international officer and chief foundation officer is October 31.

While we are sad to see Anna go, we are also proud that her role with the Association has positioned her to be recruited by another strong organization in the industry – the National Reined Cow Horse Association. Anna has accepted an offer to serve as executive director of NRCHA, one of AQHA’s alliance partners, and we look forward to working with Dr. Morrison in her new capacity.
Kane plans to keep the focus of the international department on improving AQHA’s international member support through partnership with the AQHA Membership Experience Team, implementation of digital solutions to problematic processes, and development of programs that are important to the Association’s international members.

“We will also continue to partner with affiliate leadership and the AQHA International Committee to ensure we are hearing and responding to the concerns that are most important to you,” Kane added.

The AQHA International Department has been under the leadership of Dr. Morrison since January 2017.

“My work with both international and the American Quarter Horse Foundation has been incredibly rewarding,” said Dr. Morrison. “I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to meet so many of our international members and work hard to advocate for you at AQHA, and I am very proud to have recruited such a strong team to do the same.”
