Western Pleasure Challenge Debuts at 2020 Farnam AQHA World

The Western Pleasure Challenge debuts at the 2020 Farnam AQHA World Championship Show; the top-four placing Level 2 and Level 3 exhibitors will share in a guaranteed $15,000 payout.

Western pleasure exhibitor standouts in both Level 2 and Level 3, riding multiple horses, with their earned Farnam AQHA World Championship Show matrix points added together, will be titled champions. In short, that describes the Western Pleasure Challenge, which is being added by the American Quarter Horse Association to the 2020 Farnam AQHA World Championship Show in November at the OKC Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City.

The title of Western Pleasure Challenge champion will be presented to the exhibitor who earns the most points, showing up to three horses. The catch is a new 3-year-old western pleasure opportunity, the Zimeta™ 3-year-old western pleasure stakes class, with $5,000 added, is a mandatory class. Exhibitors then choose up to two additional horses from their 2-year-old western pleasure, junior western pleasure or senior western pleasure entries, to be matched with their 3-year-old stakes horse entry.

Only have a horse for the Zimeta™ 3-year-old western pleasure stakes? No problem, enter and show in the stakes only. Only have one other horse to match with your stakes horse? No problem, enter and compete with only the two – and, if you place high enough, take home the cash. Best of all, there is only an entry fee for the Zimeta™ 3-year-old western pleasure stakes. When you declare your other entries to match with your stakes horse, there is no charge.

Entry information will be available soon at www.aqha.com/worldshow.

About the Western Pleasure Challenge

Exhibitors will declare their Level 2 or Level 3 eligibility and compete as such. Western Pleasure Challenge added money will be split equally between Level 2 and Level 3 exhibitors. Entry fees paid will accrue directly to the purses of the Level 2 or Level 3 exhibitors. The same exhibitor must show each horse in their respective class. Each horse’s placing in their respective western pleasure classes goes toward the composite score that determines the overall challenge winner.
