Meg DePalma Sells NSBA World Champion Hotroddin Ona Harley to Robin Hill Sowell

"This is exactly what I wanted,” Meg DePalma told us about the sale of Harley to Robin Hill Sowell.

Amateur exhibitor Meg DePalma of North Augusta, South Carolina, has informed GoHorseShow that she has sold her 2006 black gelding, Hotroddin Ona Harley. The new owner is Robin Hill Sowell of Greenville, South Carolina.

This talented all-around gelding has amassed over 1,800 points throughout his impressive career. “Harley” has afforded Meg several top fives and top tens at the NSBA World, Congress, and the AQHA World Show. This team won the Novice Amateur Western Riding at the NSBA World Show and were Reserve Congress Champions in the Green Western Riding.

“I’m forever grateful for what he’s taught me over the past five years,“ Meg says.

“The Dog,” aka Harley, will continue to be under the guidance of Clint Ainsworth. “This is exactly what I wanted,” Meg told us. “Harley is very particular about who he allows to ride him, and he loves her (Robin), which makes me the happiest. He gets to keep his stall and continues to be the barn favorite.”

Sowell is a Novice Select Amateur and will start showing Harley in the all-around events. Sowell told us that she “absolutely loves this horse.”

“I feel fortunate that I had the opportunity to buy him. Big thanks to Clint Ainsworth for encouraging me to consider a horse of this caliber, and his team for all their support.  I look forward to showing him real soon.” Sowell states. “From the beginning, I wanted to do the trail, so that was the key to considering Harley, but overall, he has won my heart. I can’t say enough about his gentle personality and overall skill set. No matter what I do, he’s right there for me and supporting my efforts.“

Trainer Clint Ainsworth is quite fond of Harley. “He is very special to me and has given me a lot of unforgettable rides and memories. It was important to Meg and I that he stayed in my program. And he went to someone that loves him as much as both Meg and I do.”
