Dixie Nationals Candids, Rundown & Results

The 2019 Dixie Nationals is a wrap with large classes and fun had by all. The show started on February 5th with the Equestrian With Disabilities events. There were 121 AQHA and 94 NSBA entries, all of the participants had a great time, and a lot of new friends were made.

A special two-judge roping event was held on Tuesday, February 12, with 40 entries in some classes. The Dixie National AQHA event began on Wednesday, February 13 with Working Cow Horse and Boxing continuing with large numbers and the conclusion of roping classes.

Elite Saddlery generously donated rope cans and bags to the winners of every roping class at the horse show.  This is the third year in a row which Elite Saddlery has donated the Andrew McBeath Memorial High Point Cattle Horse saddle, which was awarded to Bobby Lewis and Joseph Harrison and Dual Patron.

The reining and ranch riding numbers were large with 30 or more exhibitors in the amateur and youth classes.

Friday night, the Wendy’s Freestyle Reining was well attended and included a Frosty eating contest, helping to raise over $2500 for the MQHYA scholarship.

Saturday brought the Southern Classic Horse Sale, with 115 horses. The high seller was Reytallica 2013 Stallion sold for $26,000. The sale average was$3,350.00, and the top ten horses average was $12,200. We concluded on Sunday with our speed events and hunt seat classes.
