Kristen Galyean Announces Purchase of Congress Champion and Dam Lope The Line

Kristen Galyean of Tulsa, Oklahoma, is thrilled to announce the purchase of the stunning mare and dam, Lope The Line (Ellen). The Galyean family purchased the 2011 bay mare from the Macbeth family of Redmond, Washington. Ellen is by the legendary Lazy Loper and out of the great mare, Zipped Tight.

The eight-year-old mare is a Congress and NSBA World Futurity Champion, as well as the dam of the 2018 Two-Year-Old Open Western Pleasure Congress Champion Vital Lines Are Red. Last year, the mare was shown by Rusty Green and is now owned by Ray Arnona.

In addition, Galyean was able to purchase the 2019 foal out of Lope The Line which is a full sister to Vital Lines Are Red. The new foal (pictured below right) is by Kristen’s stallion, VS Code Red (Waylon).

“We decided to buy Ellen for my six-year-old daughter, Gracelyn to ride in the walk-trot events and to breed back to Waylon,” Kristen told us right after the purchase. “It is exciting to see my daughter start her show career with such a kind and gentle horse. Gracelyn just started taking lessons with Leigh Berryhill.”

Kristen adds, “It is rare for us to have older horses since we sell most of our horses when they are younger. Gracelyn seems to be into the trail which is interesting because that was never really my class. She will probably start off showing in the walk-trot pleasure and then move on to more classes later in the year.”

Galyean states that Gracelyn is thrilled to have her first show horse and is already talking about possible colors of her horse show pad. If all goes well, Galyean says the plan is for her daughter to debut with Ellen at the Redbud Spectacular. Kristen says that the family is taking baby steps since Gracelyn is just starting out her show career.

“We can’t wait to see what the future holds with Gracelyn and Ellen in the Small Fry events and her future babies with VS Code Red,” Kristen says.
