UPDATE: Monte Ruden Moved Out of ICU

From Scott Boe – January 12, 2019

Monte was moved out of ICU last night (after his last surgery in this series). The doctors have been very happy with the outcome of each surgery. Every day he is getting stronger and stronger. Myself, Monte and our entire family are so humbled and grateful for the amazing outpouring of support and encouragement.

On January 2nd Monte Ruden was in a terrible accident with a horse. He was airlifted from the farm to Mayo Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. His initial surgery was 12 hours to stop the internal bleeding. He has since gone through four additional surgeries to fix a broken femur on his right leg and repair his intestines. He will be at St Mary’s for two to three more weeks.

Due to the severity of his injuries, myself and his family have held off making this public. Things and life can change in a blink of an eye. We thank you in advance for your thoughts and prayers. It will be a long road ahead but he is making great progress.

Monte’s Birthday is next week, January 16th. It would be so wonderful if you have the time to send him a birthday/get well soon card in the mail.
