MAQHA Brought Christmas Cheer to Holiday Classic

December 11, 2018 – Jackson, MS – The Holiday Classic 2 Day, 4 judge show hosted by the Mississippi Amateur Quarter Horse Association was the place to be December 8th and 9th. Despite the rainy weather, the group conducted a Snowball Throwing contest and the clear winners were Team Watts/Martin.

President of the Mississippi Amateur Quarter Horse Association, Christy Carwile said, “Considering this was the first time offered, the Snowball Throwing Contest and the Ugly Sweater Contest were well received.”

The Ugly Sweater Contest awarded placings in the Youth, Amateur and Open Divisions, with Susan Guider Parrett winning the Amateur honors, Hanna Hussey winning the Youth honors, and Show Secretary Pat Kress also got in the act and received the honors for the Open Division. The sweaters were worn all day Saturday competing the halter, showmanship and pleasure classes.

“We even had exhibitors in sweaters for the Ranch Riding classes,” Carwile states. “Exhibitors also enjoyed a warm lunch of chili and soup prepared by Jennifer Seals and sponsored by Equine Omega Complete. We wish to thank everyone who competed in our special events as well as the exhibitors in our horse show. It was a fun weekend.”
