Marilyn Masterson and KM WeKnowShesHot Win Back-To-Back World Championships

Sometimes things just come together perfectly, and it’s even better when it happens at one of the most prestigious shows of the year.  And even better when it happens two years in a row. On Thursday, Marilyn Masterson and KM WeKnowShesHot continued their winning ways at the AQHA Select World Show. Marilyn and “Mercedes” looked impressive in the finals of the Western Pleasure and took home the golden globe for back-to-back wins.

“Mercedes couldn’t have been better for me,” Marilyn told us after her win. “She’s truly a once-in-a-lifetime horse. We couldn’t be more thrilled.”

Last year, Marilyn and the mare by Masterson’s stallion, RL Best Of Sudden, won Marilyn’s first-ever world championship. This duo is also just off winning the NSBA World Show in the Select Amateur Western Pleasure as well as the BCF Championship in the Intermediate Non-Pro Western Pleasure.

KM WeKnowShesHot is a gorgeous, six-year-old, sorrel mare by RL Best Of Sudden and is the result of three generations of breeding at Masterson Farms. Marilyn showed both her dam, WeKnowShesSomething and her grand dam, SheThinkShesSomething. Mercedes also won Marilyn her first Congress Championship in the Select Amateur Western Pleasure in 2016.

Resident trainer Blair Townsend said that it was incredible that Marilyn was able to win back-to-back championships on the same horse. “She just put it all out there. There were some great horses and riders in the pen, and it is impressive that she was able to do it again. Mercedes is 16 hands so she can’t go as slow as some of the horses, so we don’t try to change her. Mercedes does great on and off of the rail and Marilyn did a great job showing off her abilities. Casey and I are so proud of her.”

Congratulations to Marilyn and everyone at Masterson Farms on continuing your impressive winning ways.
