Gordyville Spring Fling Slot Class and All-Around Winners

The ILQHA and Gordyville Spring Fling Show kicked off on Saturday with the inaugural $3000 NSBA Green HUS Slot Class.  The class was judged by Sandy Jirkovsk, Kelly A Smith, Terry Thompson, Chris Jones and Jeff Greaves. Huntin Around and Jennifer Burton took home the win, riding for owner Betsy Ginger.

In addition to winnings of $1339.01 the winner took home a gift bag from The Only Escape and Willow Pond Farm, Back on Track Wraps, a $200 gift certificate from Winning Couture, a Custom Leather Werks tooled halter by Melissa Werkheiser, a Cinch jean jacket, a Pard’s Western Store gift card as well a beautiful neck sash and the NSBA trophy.

Jennifer said that “Monster”, a 4 year old brown gelding, is really a gentle giant that wants to please.  “He went out there and really did his job today” she said. Kate Kramer and her 3 year old brown mare, Neverhaditthisgood, won the non-pro division.

The NSBA $9000 Green Western Pleasure was on Sunday. It was judged by Sandy Jirkovski, Kelly A Smith, Terry Thompson, Chris Jones and Keith Miller.  It was won by Sole Sister and EH Pait for owner Katie Johnson.  They will be taking home a check for $3000 and a $100 Pards gift certificate, a Custom Leather Werks hand tooled halter made by Melissa Werkheiser, a Cinch jean jacket, a show pad and western spurs. They also received the NSBA trophy and neck ribbon.

According to Pait the 5 year old sorrel mare is a very natural mover but today she was very consistent.  “She rode really good for me today,” Pait said.

The Limited Division was won by Batt In The Night and Melvin Yoder, for owner Stephanie Craddoch.  They won an additional $750 for the Limited win.

The ILQHA show at Gordyville continues through the week with the ILQHYA show beginning Friday and wrapping up next Sunday.  The $500 Showmanship is on Friday and the $2500 NSBA Green Trail takes place next Saturday.
