Highpoint Performances Horses Announces Addition of VS GoodRide to Stallion Lineup

11/28 UPDATE: VS GoodRide is homozygous for the black gene.

Highpoint Performance Horses is excited to introduce to the public, VS GoodRide, better known as “Boss.” This beautiful two-year-old bay roan stallion is by the proven sire, VS Flatline, and out of World Champion and World and Congress Champion producer, Goodygoody Gumdrops.

“Every once in a while, there comes along a horse that you just know is special,” Jason Martin told us. “VS GoodRide is one of those individuals. He is gorgeous as well as a natural mover. Next year, after breeding season, we plan on showing him in the western pleasure, western riding, trail and maybe the hunter under saddle.”

His dam is by the legendary Zippos Mr Goodbar and out of an AQHA World Champion producing daughter of the one and only Hotrodders Jet Set. His mother has produced five Congress Champions with four different offspring out of her first six foals. One of her sons is Congress Champion, HP Prime Time, who is a full sibling to VS GoodRide.

“There is no other stallion on the market with all of these great genetics,” says Martin, who owns this stallion along with his partner, Charlie Cole. “We are excited to be able to offer old bloodlines back into the industry.”

When asked why they decided to stand VS GoodRide as a three-year-old, Highpoint’s Breeding Manager, Christi Christensen, stated, “Why not? We stand by his pedigree one hundred percent, and he is bred like nothing else out there. The dam side of his bloodlines are proven performers who have produced world caliber performers, so it’s a no-brainer for us. Boss has the looks and movement to be a game changer in our industry.”

Christensen adds that his disposition is also a huge plus. “Boss is very quiet, and the first day anyone ever sat on his back, you would have thought he had already been ridden for six months. He is that quiet, great legged and talented.”

His 2018 stud fee is $1,000, and Highpoint will be offering any past breeders a $750 stud fee. Also, any World Champions, Reserve World Champions, Congress Champions, Reserve Congress Champions, NSBA World Champions or NSBA Reserve World Champions or producers may breed to VS Goodride for $500.

Shipped semen will also be available overseas.

His foals will be eligible for all the major futurities and the APHA Breeder’s Trust.
