Hereicomagain & Taylor Searles Win First Congress Western Pleasure Championship

Eighteen year-old Taylor Searles and her four year old mount, Hereicomagain (Chloe), had an impressive showing today in the 15-18 Youth Western Pleasure. This duo had three firsts and a fourth to take home the win.

This gorgeous bay mare is owned by Kathy Tobin and is by the late, Good I Will Be and out of the dam, Lookouthereicome. The mare was bred by Scott Kesney of Chipley, Florida.

”We had a great ride today,” Taylor told us after her win. “She is so fun to show because she loves her job and is so natural and talented.”

Taylor adds, “She is a really honest mare who is super sweet and always has her ears forward and loves her treats.”

This is the mare’s first Congress Championship and Taylor’s first in a western pleasure class. Taylor has won a total of six Congress Championships during her youth career with one more year left in youth.

”I really enjoy showing in the western pleasure class because I don’t have to worry about myself, and it is more laid back and slower paced than the other classes Ishow in,” Taylor explains. “Though, there is actually a lot to showing in the pleasure. It’s not as easy as you might think.”

Taylor also showed Chloe in the horsemanship and trail in Columbus, but she said they both had green and baby moments. Taylor’s plan is to show her in the all-around events next year.

Searles is done showing at this year’s Congress and is headed back to school at Auburn where she rides for their NCEA equestrian team.

Taylor would like to thank her parents, Jim and Deanna Searles, Kathy Tobin for the chance to lease this mare, and Rusty and Katie Green for all their help and support this year.

We also talked to Chloe’s breeder, Scott Kesney, about what the mare was like as a young foal.

“This is the same horse that captivated the horse community when Jan Pittman and I posted the video of me ponying her beside the four-wheeler,” Scott recalls. “But it started way before that. She was phenomenal from only eight days old. Prior to that, she was in a small paddock with the recipient mare, and she would lope circles around and every pass she would kick the water bucket hung on the fence. I thought it was a joke at first. This went on for eight days until I turned her out in a paddock where she used to run laps like NASCAR. She was such a character.”
