Taylor Brown’s Picture of the Day from NSBA World

Friday, August 18, 2017 – Picture #6

Today, my picture is of Maria Salazar of Portland, Oregon and her new horse, Moonlightin who is by Only In The Moonlite. This duo is under the guidance of Shannon McCulloch, and Maria purchased him from Geno Spagnola and A&J Ventures in March.

The pair was fifth in the BCF Limited Non Pro Western Pleasure and then a few classes later they went into the BCF Limited Non Pro Hunter Under Saddle and placed sixth with bands still in. They were also seventh in the Maturity $10,000 Limited Horse Non Pro Western Pleasure.

What an rare sight these days to see a horse place in the western pleasure and hunter under saddle the same day – let alone a four year-old. They will also show in the Maturity Limited Non Pro Western Pleasure on Saturday.

Congratulations on their success so far and good luck to this wonderful new team.

My picture of the day from Tulsa features my super star, Absolute Best Asset. Better known as Axle, he is my right hand man. I bought him from Mike and May Edwards in 2012.

When I bought him, all he did was the pleasure, and I never would have thought that we would be where we are today so quickly. My trainer, Anthony Montes, has done a wonderful job with him, and I couldn’t be happier.

Also, I have to give a huge thank you to my mom and dad, Liz and Mitch Brown, for giving us the opportunity to compete at such a high level. I can’t wait to see what we can accomplish on Saturday in the horsemanship.

My picture of the day is a selfie with Cori Cansdale and her horse, Promotional Asset, aka “Chuckie”. They were named NSBA World Champions in the Youth Horsemanship. The pair is from California and is under the guidance of Tonya Brown.

They had one last chance tonight at getting named a NSBA World Champion, and they couldn’t be more happy. It is a well deserved win and a great way to finish off their show.

Pictured here is Natalia DeVencenty. Today, Natalia  was named the champion in both the Youth Western Riding and Hunt Seat Equitation aboard her horse, Chex Is The Choice, who is also known as “Sexy Chexy”.

The pair from Colorado also just recently won the AQHYA World Show in the trail. She hopes to gain another trophy tomorrow in the Youth Horsemanship. Good luck to all of the fellow competitors at the show.

My first picture of the day is of the coveted NSBA World trophies. As usual, the display of trophies, saddles, cups, and buckles looks amazing. Today is the first day of the NSBA World Show and everyone is excited to show. Good luck to all of the exhibitors throughout the show.

Taylor’s Intro

Hi, Everyone! My name is Taylor Brown, and I am from Strathmore, California. I am here at the NSBA World Show with my two horses, Absolute Best Asset (Axle), who is in training with Anthony Montes, and I Look Extremely Hot (Halle), under the guidance of the Parrish Family.

It is my first show with Halle, and we will be showing in the Novice Amateur Western Pleasure. I will be showing Axle in the Amateur Showmanship, Horsemanship, Equitation, Western Riding, and Trail.

I am super excited to be here before I head back to college for my last year at Fresno State. Look out for all of my pictures this week.
