Multiple World Champion Sire Kids Classic Style is Euthanized
GoHorseShow is sad to report that multiple World Champion and World Champion sire, Kids Classic Style, was euthanized due to complications with a leg injury. The 1996 buckskin stallion by Kid Clu and out of Tootsy Rolls Redford, was bred by Zumbrun Quarter Horses of Greenville, Ohio. “Bucky” was owned by Thomas Scheckel of Bellvue, Iowa who had purchased him from Kenny and Kara Mills in July, 2008.
“We decided to put him to sleep this morning,” Scheckel told GoHorseShow on Wednesday. “He was one-of-a-kind, and an amazing sire.”
Understandably emotional about his passing, Scheckel told GoHorseShow that he was currently on the way home from the vet clinic to bury Bucky at his farm.
The halter stallion was the 1997 AQHA Reserve World Champion in the Yearling Stallions, 1993 Three Year-Old World Champion Halter Stallion, and 2001 World Champion Halter Stallion.
While he was successful in the show arena, he made his mark on the industry as a breeding stallion. Bucky sired an impressive 194 World Champions–all Associations combined and 157 Reserve World Champions.
As far as AQHA accomplishments as a sire–the stallion has sired offspring who have accumulated nearly 14,000 AQHA points, $266,987.35 in AQHA Incentive Fund Earnings, and AQHA World Show earnings of $178,318.85. He has also sired 34 AQHA World Champions, 33 AQHA Reserve World Champions, and 14 High Point winners.
Some of his recent World Champion offspring include, A Classic Edition, JF Skip N Style, Classic Barbie, Cowboy Style, Hes Stylin, Influential, Shez One Classy Kid, FF Cowboy Kid, FF Texas Debutante, and Bartwo Classic Kid.
Former owner, Kara Mills told GoHorseShow on Wednesday, “We were heartbroken to learn of Bucky’s passing. We were privileged to
have owned and to have had a part in this great stallion’s career. I
personally want to thank everyone who had a part in Bucky’s success and
those who took such excellent care of him: Zumbrun Quarter Horses, Mike
Murray, Doug Tallent, Luke Castle, Iowa State University, and the
Scheckel family. Also thanks to the hundreds of people who bred their
mares to him and whose get have gone on to prove the that Bucky was one
of a kind. Kids Classic Style is and was one of a kind and will always
be in our hearts.”
GoHorseShow would like to send their condolences to everyone that has been involved with this great stallion.
