GoHorseShow would like to congratulate trainer Sandra Morgan of Langley, British Columbia on the purchase of multiple World and Congress Champion, Good I Will Be (Willie) at the Rita Crundwell sale on Sunday. The three-time AQHA World Champion by A Good Machine and out of Miss Trophy Dash was the first horse auctioned in the live sale, and he was purchased for an impressive $775,000. GoHorseShow.com talked to Morgan about her plans for the talented 2004 bay stallion after the sale.
Morgan told GoHorseShow that she considered the possibility of buying Willie a few months ago.
“I have always loved him because he is so versatile. He was great in the hunter under saddle, performance halter, western pleasure, and, recently, he was leading the nation in the trail as well as placing third at the AQHA World Show in the senior western riding last year. He is such a strong loper, and I’m so excited that I had the opportunity to purchase him.”
Morgan says that Willie was sent home from the sale in Dixon, Illinois with World Champion trainer, Leonard Berryhill, to get ready to show at the Congress and World Show in the western riding. After the AQHA World Show in November, he will be retired from the show pen and will stand the 2013 breeding season at Stephen Stephens’ Dry River Ranch in Weatherford, Texas.
“He is just eight years-old and he has already sired several futurity champions and we are looking forward to continuing his breeding career,” Stephens told GoHorseShow. “I am blessed to be given the opportunity to stand such a talented stallion.”
Morgan continues, “Everyone who has his babies have been ranting and raving about how great-minded and trainable they are, and we look forward to seeing more of his babies in the show pen. I am also looking forward to when I can get on him and ride him around and keep loping and not stop,” Sandra says laughing. “I’ve heard he is amazing horse to ride and I can’t wait!”
Willie’s breeding fee for the 2013 season will be $2500. Please contact Stephen Stephens at 817-304-1198 for more information.
