Last month GoHorseShow broke the story of the McCardle Family who was struck by an enormous loss when tornadoes came through their town and destroyed their Kentucky farm and claimed the lives of all their horses but one–a weanling named Teddy. We recently talked to Rachel Hensley to find out how the family has been doing to rebuild after the storms.
“We are doing all right for the most part. Rebuilding and trying to move forward. My sister Becky and I have the itch to own another horse,” Hensley told GoHorseShow. “I found a three year-old that is out of my mare I lost for sale at Jeff Geiger’s. Might be looking into her. My sister is also looking for a horse around three to five years-old that is deep hocked and flat kneed and a western pleasure type.”
Rachel adds, “Teddy is also growing and doing well. His name is going to be Diesels Twisted Miracle. He is very muscular and friendly–licks like a dog,” she says laughing. “I can’t wait to show Teddy in the longe line next year.”
