The Rock Candids & Report from MQHA Summer Series

MQHA Summer Series Grows by 1,300+ Entries

The Michigan Quarter Horse Association kicked off its summer season by holding the 2017, 5 judge Summer Series horse show at a new location- the Midland County Fairgrounds. The site offers three covered arenas and an extensive number of camping sites. Perfect weather, great facilities, and newly added extras makes this horse show one to pencil in for next year.

A wine and cheese party was sponsored and hosted by McCarthy Warda Performance Horses on Friday night and Mary Wilkosz of A&W Restaurant sponsored muffins, doughnuts, and juice every morning for exhibitors. Show management, EKG Equine Services (Kurtis and Elizabeth Gear) also gave away exhibitor appreciation drink koozies to everyone.

Circuit Awards were offered for the first time in Summer Series history. The class circuits were generously sponsored by Tom Carter of Toledo Ticket Company. All Around and Reserve All Around awards were offered in ten divisions. Each received a gift certificate to Roth’s Show Equipment.

MQHA Vice President and Summer Series horse show chairman, Meggen Morrow Baynes, commented on how thankful she is for the great staff at the fairgrounds, good weather, and for exhibitors supporting the venue change for 2017.
