On the Cover

Fifteen-year-old, Lilli Woodruff of Atlanta, Georgia is ready to take the horse show world by storm. In her first year in the 14-18 age group, this talented, soon-to-be high school sophomore will be busy this summer showing at the AjPHA and Pinto World Shows with four different horses under the guidance of Brian Isbell – CC Cowboy (APHA, PtHA), Huntin An Invitation (AQHA, APHA, PtHA), Sleepingwithmybootson (AQHA, PtHA) and Yours Truly Odyssey (APHA, PtHA).

Woodruff and her nineteen-year-old partner, CC Cowboy (pictured right), will be showing in the showmanship and trail. She loves Cowboy because he doesn’t act his age. “He is still spirited and sweet,” Woodruff states. “He has the biggest heart and still loves his job.”

She describes her five-year-old mount, Huntin An Invitation (pictured left), as having a case of ADHD. “He is really fun to show but he gets distracted sometimes. Outside the arena, he has a goofy and fun personality to be around.” She will be showing him in the hunt seat equitation, hunter under saddle and horsemanship.

Woodruff’s next mount is Sleepingwithmybootson who she will be showing in the all-around events at the Pinto World as well as later at the Quarter Horse Congress. She says that Faith is really sweet and you would never know that she is a mare. “She really takes care of me and pushes me to be better.”

Her final mount, Yours Truly Odyssey has a special place in her heart. Woodruff won her first World Championship at the Pinto World in the walk trot division with him. “He was my first real show horse,” she told us. “He helped me get to where I am today.” Woodruff will be showing him in the timed events.

“I love showing because of the excitement I feel when I enter the arena,” she stated. “I also get to see all my friends at the shows. I enjoy showing different horses because they all teach me new things. In college, I want to ride for a NCEA team.”

As far as her goals this year, Woodruff says she would like to run for the high point titles at the world shows, and, hopefully, place in the Top 10 in her classes. The sky’s the limit for this talented young lady. We wish her the best of luck!
