We are happy to have Marilyn Masterson of Masterson Farms as the first person featured in this new series. Masterson is the epitome of class and grace, and we are excited that she agreed to participate.

Marilyn and her husband, Ken, own Masterson Farms which is located in Somerville, Tennessee and stand the legendary stallion, RL Best Of Sudden. Masterson will be showing her homebred mare, KM Weknowsheshot (Mercedes) in the Select Amateur Western Pleasure at the Tom Powers, NSBA World, Select World and Congress. Last year, Marilyn and Mercedes were Congress Champions in the Select Amateur Western Pleasure. 10 Things You Probably Don’t Know about Marilyn Masterson as told by Marilyn Masterson

1. I grew up showing Saddlebreds as my father was a long-time breeder and trainer. I loved showing in three-gaited and equitation classes. I quit riding after school and only started again when Ken and I married and he tricked me into quarter horses — and I’m so glad he did.

2. I love University of Kentucky Basketball as Coach Cal (John Calipari) is a good friend of ours from his days of coaching in Memphis, and we love to go to his practices. And, I was bred and born in Kentucky and my family is still in Lexington.

4. Having said that, I’m fatally attracted to chocolate — milk chocolate at that!

5. I’m a homebody and usually can be found in my pajamas.

6. I’m an early bird and usually in bed by 9:00.

7. In my earlier life, I was a District Manager for Walmart in Kentucky and Ohio.
