Bret Parrish and Pistol Packin Mann Win $25,000 in Hylton Maiden Class

GoHorseShow would like to congratulate trainer, Bret Parrish, and Pistol Packin Mann (Pistol) on winning the Hylton Maiden Three-Year-Old and Over Western Pleasure Class at the Virginia Spring Breakout Show. This winning team came home with a check for $25,000 in Lexington, Virginia on Saturday evening.

Thirteen talented horses competed in the class where Parrish and Pistol had two firsts, a second and a sixth to win this prestigious event. The class saw many top trainers including Kenny Lakins, Taft Dickerson, Gil Galyean, Randy Wilson, and Ty Hornick. The winning horse, Pistol Packin Mann, is owned by Richard Baumann of Dothan, Alabama. The 2013 sorrel gelding is by Machine Made and out of Shoes Simply Southern.

Bret talked to GoHorseShow right after his win. “Pistol was very focused and stayed very soft throughout the class. This was his first time ever shown, so I was very proud of him. I just had to stay out of his way.”

Amateur Ali Grusha who watched the class stated, “There were great horses and the class, once again, pulled the top riders in the industry.”

The sponsor of the class, Cecilia Hylton, is well known in the industry for sponsoring and supporting the three-year-old maiden events in our industry. The Hylton Maiden Three and Over Western Pleasure class paid $25,000 to the winner, plus, a large payout of placings between 2nd and 10th.
