From Jessica Bloom: I’ve spoken with multiple horse rescues in Gatlinburg. They are an absolute desperate need for hay and grain. With the drought there was already no hay. So as of right now they’re just trying to get food to feed all these extra mouths. I’m sure they also need other supplies. So anything you could donate would be amazing. I will be making a trip down this weekend to take hay and grain. Along with possibly hauling abandoned or injured horses. They are already pulling out burned horses. The National Guard hasn’t let them in to even get to the Core of the fire for search and rescue. Anyone interested in donating can drop off at our farm. I’ve started a group to organize. For more info call 513-348-5878.

GATLINBURG TRIP UPDATE: We have information now from the Police Department in Gatlinburg. As you might imagine it is very tragic and disorganized there. Our instructions as of this moment are to bring trailers and trucks with supplies for horses and all animals to the Fairgrounds, 754 Old Knoxville Highway (865) 453-0770.
If you have human supplies, i.e. clothing, food, medical we are to take it to New Hope, 2450 Winfield Dunn Parkway (66).
