Terrific Tuesday: Three Horses and Three Trophies for Halter Exhibitor, Thomas Coon

Amateur halter exhibitor, Thomas Coon of Pilot Point, Texas had an exceptional day at the AQHA World Show. Tuesday he came away with two silver trophies – the first in the Amateur Weanling Fillies with Inexces. The beautiful sorrel filly is by My Intention and Beyond Beautiful. The second silver trophy came in the Amateur Two-Year-Old Mares with Entrigue. The bay mare is by Mr Elusive and out of Cool Seduction.

However, that was just the start of his extraordinary day in the halter pen. Coon and PF Chrome Rimz (Spinner) won the gold globe in the Three-Year-Old Geldings with three firsts.

“It is great to win it here!” Thomas Coon told us right after his win.

PFChromeRimz_ThomasCoon_GoldPF Chrome Rimz is by Chromed Up and out of Conclusive Ruthie and was bred by Chester W. Prince of Palmetto, Florida. Thomas was so excited to win the World Championship, that both he and Spinner danced when they called out that he was the winner.

“He is a big gentle giant and as you can see he likes to dance with his owner,” Coon says and laughs.

“This meant a lot because the black horse (Coos Me In The Dark) is a great horse and he has won it (the World Championship) every year, but we beat him this year. I’m so proud and so happy,” Thomas said with a big smile on his face.

We would like to congratulate Thomas and Mimsi Coon on their great wins under the guidance of Ted Turner, Jr, and we look forward to watching them in more classes this week.
