November World Show Issue of GoMag Online Now

The month of November is incredibly important for many AQHA and APHA horse show enthusiasts as it means World Show time for both breeds. The APHA Open-Amateur World Championship Show runs from November 2-13 in Ft. Worth, Texas. Meanwhile, the AQHA World Championship Show in Oklahoma City will take place November 3-19. For those who are just unpacking from the Congress, the World Shows have arrived faster than usual this year.

The November issue of GoMag features many great teams competing at the World Championship shows. Due to the quick turn-around time that GoMag’s digital format provides, we are thrilled to bring you many brand new ads featuring recent winners from the Congress. A special thank you to everyone at Shane Rux Photography for accommodating the many requests and to all of the talented graphic designers who were able to create many beautiful ads on a very tight deadline. Your hard work and dedication to our advertisers never go unnoticed. We would like to wish everyone competing in Oklahoma City and Ft. Worth the best of luck.

About the Cover

Reinartz_2016CongressFeatured on the November World Show cover of GoMag is Scott Reinartz and his seven-year-old gelding, Investin A Goodbar.  Scott and “Hank” are looking forward to showing in five amateur events at the AQHA World Show;  Pleasure Driving, Horsemanship, Showmanship, Trail and Performance Halter Geldings.

This team is under the guidance of Bruce Vickery of Sanger, Texas. “Working with Bruce has been awesome,” says Scott, a native of Minnesota who now lives in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. “He has great energy and is very encouraging. He has given me a different perspective in my riding. He is in the process of changing some things,” Scott says and laughs. “I’m a work in progress.”

Fresh off the Congress, Scott and Hank had a successful show where they placed third in the Amateur Pleasure Driving and were twelfth in both the Amateur Horsemanship and Amateur Trail. Scott’s trainer, Bruce Vickery placed eighth out of 140 horses with Hank in a deep Senior Trail class. Vickery looks forward to showing Hank at the AQHA World Show in Senior Trail as well.

Reinartz_Congress_blackbackdropShowing in such a variety of classes can be challenging but Scott says he likes all his classes. “Each one has a different challenge for me, and I think they are all fun. When I stop having fun, I’ll stop doing it.”

One of Scott’s favorite wins came in 2015 when they were named AQHA Reserve World Champions in the Amateur Pleasure Driving. He proudly told us that he taught Hank how to drive. Scott has two other horses, My Barpasser with Mya Childers in Colorado, and A Boy Named Sioux with Mark Stevens in Florida. When asked about his horses’ personalities, he says, “It’s funny, all my horses have similar behaviors. They are all like big puppy dogs.”

As far as Scott’s expectations at the 2016 World Show, he says he wants to “do the patterns correctly, turn the right way, take the correct lead, you know, the simple things. I always want to show my horse to the best of his ability.”

Scott wisely says that his next win will be his favorite, but for him, it’s not all about winning. “I love the sportsmanship and the big family atmosphere at the horse shows. I see a lot of my fellow competitors more than I see a lot of my family.”

We wish them the very best of luck in Oklahoma City.
