If you wanted to quit your “day job” and could do absolutely anything, what would you do?

For life-long horse show competitors, Landon and Suzannah Fuhrman, the answer meant finding a way to combine their four passions: show horses, marketing, journalism and technology.

The year 2008 was one we all remember as the crash of the economy.  People were losing their jobs, their homes and their livelihoods.  Yet, in the horse show world, the desire to continue to advertise, despite the recession, was still there.  The problem was it was so incredibly expensive to advertise in print.

From their home office, the Fuhrmans had a light bulb moment.

“We thought that a digital magazine where people could reach a mass audience at a fraction of the cost might be incredibly appealing,” Suzannah said.

After several months of research, development and hard work, their dream came to fruition on June 1, 2008, when GoHorseShow and the first issue of GoMag made their debut on the worldwide web.

With the equine industry always being a little slow to advance in comparison to the rest of the world, the idea for a digital magazine was revolutionary, innovative and as the tagline suggested, it was “the future of equine advertising.”

It certainly didn’t take long for the industry to catch up and today, GoMag has an international readership reaching thousands of readers per month and a number of the industry’s top professionals, amateurs, youth and product and service providers have all found a home in GoMag.

The cover of the 100th issue reflects the journey taken thus far with a compilation of every month’s cover since the very beginning.

The idea of the cover was to reflect what the Fuhrmans feel in their hearts; that GoMag has been a group effort and that celebrating the 100th issue involved showing their gratitude to everyone who has been a part of that incredible journey.

“We are so thankful to the horse industry, our advertisers, readers, and the people who have worked with us who have all helped make our dream a success,” said Suzannah.  “We are truly humbled.  They didn’t have to take a chance on us and they did.  We are honored and proud to be a part of this industry and to provide a service that everyone, from the veteran trainer to novice competitor, can utilize.  The loyalty of our customers and readers is out of this world and we genuinely thank each and every one of you!”
