Today is my favorite day of the AQHYA world show…Ruth Ellen’s fantastic dog adoption opportunity, The Paws Cause! Being an animal lover, it warms my heart to see dogs that felt unwanted be wanted again.
In honor of this day, my sister and I wore shirts that read, “All I care about is dogs and like 3 people”. Let’s just say it was a hit!
There was one dog in particular at the Paws Cause that touched my heart and her name was Josie (pictured right). Josie was found in an alleyway and veterinarians discovered she had two litters of puppies when she was less than a year old. Besides her heart-breaking backstory, she looked up at me with her soft brown eyes and wagged her tail. One of her puppies was up for adoption and had the squishiest face!
The Paws Cause hits home with the horse community and gives opportunities for dogs to have wonderful homes. I’m happy to report that nine dogs found fur-ever homes today!
