Day Two Highlights from the Tom Powers

In the Western Pleasure events, multiple titles were earned by multiple horses. Lexus Made Lady had to work extra time for two futurity wins on the day. Abi Tuiososopo showed to the win in the Three Year Old Limited Non-Pro Western Pleasure after showing in one of two splits and a final, while Cody Parrish also showed Lexus Made Lady in a split and final to win the Three Year Old Limited Horse Western Pleasure.

For Abi, the win was just the second time she had shown a horse in 13 years, with the first ride on Wednesday at the Tom Powers Triple Challenge where she won the Novice Horse Novice Rider Three Year Old Western Pleasure. “She has earned a nap after going two goes in both classes today,” Abi laughed. “It felt wonderful. I had approached the Parrish family two years ago with the idea to get started showing again. It’s been great.”

Sleep Machine also earned her second futurity title of the show, with Denton DeBuhr showing for William Cox to win the All Age Color Western Pleasure. “She’s just a good show horse,” Denton said. “She likes to go and do her job, and she’s a lot of fun to ride.
