The 2016 Oklahoma QHA Redbud Spectacular is currently underway in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma through June 12. This show has been the number one AQHA show for the past several years and this year is no different with tough competition and large classes. This show provides amazing hospitality, judges and eight sets of points up for grabs.
“I think it’s such a nice show,” says, Cathrin Gutmann who traveled to Oklahoma from Austria. “It’s going to be the last qualifying show for me and the one time we get to ride in this arena again before the AQHA World Show in November. It’s a very good size show too, up to 70 in the trail and 50 in western riding and very high-quality performances of the exhibitors showing.”
AQHA World Champion Carey Nowacek, who took candids for GoHorseShow adds, “The show has been great so far. The weather is good, not too hot and no tornadoes,” Carey says and laughs referring to 2013 when the show was canceled due to weather. “The classes are running smoothly so nothing has run late at night. There was a free lunch on Friday sponsored by OQHA as well as a wine and cheese event on Thursday and both were great.”
The judges for the show include Sissy Anderson, Liz Baker, Ryan Kail, Keith Miller, Judd Paul, Nancy Renfro, Curtis Reynolds, Sara Simons, Courtney Fuller and Karen McCuistion.
