Featured on the cover of the largest GoMag issue in history, it seems quite fitting to have two of the industry’s most legendary horses – A Certain Vino and Ima Petite Classic, both owned by Darcy Reeve.

Vino is a living legend with 24 Congress and 14 AQHA World Champion titles. At the Congress, the 12 year-old gelding will be showing in the Amateur and Non-Pro Maturity Western Pleasure with Darcy and the Senior and Open Maturity Western Pleasure with Karen Hornick. “Vino is unlike any horse I’ve ever been around,” Darcy reveals. “His will to win, or at least perform at his best, exceeds anything I have ever known. He hates being left at home and isn’t afraid to show it.”

When asked if Darcy would ever consider selling Vino, “This seems to be a hot topic,” she revealed. “I would absolutely love to see him go on to accomplish more with someone new in the saddle. This year has been so incredible because, I feel, for the first time, we’re not out to prove anything. Showing him now is truly for the joy of showing such a willing horse who loves his job.”

A little known fact about Kramer is that his feel when loping is unbeatable. It’s like riding a Lazy Boy recliner. Kramer has a forever home with Highpoint and me. Charlie and I always fight over who gets to keep him after he retires.”

Reeve heads to Columbus very appreciative of her trainers’ help. “Working with Charlie Cole is like working with a mind reader. We always have the same mindset and approach to everything. I love working with him because he treats everything like a partnership,” Darcy states. “Karen Hornick might be my favorite person on this planet. She’s been like another mother, best friend, and mentor to me. I am so grateful for everything that she’s helped me through.”
