This month’s cover of GoMag features Dr. Candice Hall with her two gorgeous futurity horses, Made By J and Hawaiian Honey, both sired by her stallion Machine Made.

Last month, 2015 Hylton Maiden Champion Made by J (Jolene) won the NSBA World Championship in the Intermediate Non Pro Three Year-Old Western Pleasure with Candice. Under the guidance of Gil Galyean and Denton DeBuhr, the team was also reserve NSBA World Champions in the Open Non Pro class.

In April, trainer Gil Galyean saw Made By J and immediately knewSeebach_MadeByJ, “She was the one!” Out of World  Champion mare Dark Jasmine, Candice and her husband, Cory were excited to have the opportunity to purchase and promote this outstanding mare by their stallion. Candice and Cory had been excited about this cross since the breeding happened in 2011, MM’s very first year at stud.

Jolene will be showing in the three year old open and non pro events at the Congress, as well as the western pleasure events at the AQHA World Championship Show.

Hall’s other horse, Hawaiian Honey was bred and raised by the couple at their farm in British Columbia. “I still remember the night she was born. We were out in the barn at 11:30 pm in our pajamas and she was just so sweet and perfect. We were smitten,” Candice remembers.

Eventually, “Baby Jules” was sent to Purcell, Oklahoma to be with Team Galyean. At the Congress, Hawaiian Honey will be shown in the Coughlin Two Year-Old Western Pleasure Futurity with Gil Galyean, and in the Two Year-Old Non Pro with Candice.

This has been quite the journey for Candice, a small animal veterinarian on Vancouver Island, in BC, Canada. From the moment she first saw the stunning bay stud, Machine Made in 2010, to showing and promoting his babies.”It has been a whirlwind,” Candice reveals. “There are just no words to express how fun and exciting it is to be riding babies by your own stallion. It’s just all so unbelievable–really a dream come true!”

Machine Made Hall SeebachMachine Made, an NSBA World Champion in Western Riding and Reserve Congress Champion in Junior pleasure with Gil Galyean , now resides close to the couple’s home in Graham, Washington. Trainer Kristy McCann earned his Superior in Western Riding this year at the Sun Circuit and she is currently preparing “Hershel” for the AQHA World Show where he will be shown in Amateur Western riding with Candice and Senior Western Riding with Kristy.  In 2015, while standing with Cindy McCraw, was his most successful breeding year yet. Candice loves that he is treated like a pet in Cindy’s hands while she is busy treating small animals at work.
