Beloved Father, Judge, and Trainer Sheldon Soderberg Passes

Post provided by Quarter Horse Association of Alberta Facebook Page: It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of an amazing husband, father, uncle and friend. Sheldon Soderberg passed away peacefully April 18, 2015 with his family at his side.

Sheldon was an original member of the QHAA, a highly respected AQHA judge, a world class trainer, an amazing teacher and an inspiration to all who met him.

If not riding or exhibiting horses you could usually find him sitting in the stands watching one of our shows with a double-double (Tim Horton’s coffee) in his hand or at the holding ring giving final touches and advice to our youngsters. He has trained many AQHA Champions and Superior champions.

On behalf of the QHAA, our deepest sympathy goes out to his wife Cindy, and two children Lindsay (Kyreon) and Wayne.

Sheldon, your expertise, professionalism and knowledge were greatly appreciated. But most of all your warm smile, kind words and friendship will never be forgotten.

From Sheldon’s daughter Lindsay Soderberg’s Facebook Page:

From the bottom of our hearts…Thank you. Thank you for all the messages, texts, and calls. Thanks to all of our family and friends for helping us get through this tragedy in our lives. We thank God for giving us so many years with the most amazing father and husband anyone could ask for. Dad’s funeral will be held on Saturday April 25th at 2:00, Black Knight Inn, Red Deer.
